Tick Bites Lyme Disease

Tick Bites & Lyme Disease Detection in Cedar Grove, NJ

The warmer months between April and September are known for popular outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. Being in the outdoors can be fun, but the fun can stop when you get bit by a tick. At AFC Urgent Care Cedar Grove, we provide On-Site Testing for Lyme Disease and perform tick removal procedures on a Walk-In Basis.

Between 3-30 days after being bitten, some individuals may experience symptoms of tick-borne illnesses such as:

  • Bull’s Eye Pattern Rash
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Swelling
  • Stiffness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness

You can reduce your risks of catching Lyme Disease by:

  • Wearing protective clothing during outdoor activities
  • Walking in the center of hike trails
  • Conducting full-body checks when returning indoors
  • Showering immediately after outdoor activities

Our Urgent Care Center can test your tick-borne symptoms for Lyme Disease and remove ticks latched onto your skin. We’re open seven days a week with convenient night and weekend hours of weekdays from 8AM - 8PM, and weekends from 8AM - 5PM. We accept most major Health Insurances and provide cost-effective care for self-pay patients.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
